As expected, CM Punk recently met with Chris Jericho ahead of his return to AEW. FTR was also there in what has been described as a successful meeting.

The meeting was done to hash out their differences on neutral ground and potentially set the stage for them to work together in All Elite Wrestling.

Punk is expected to make his return to AEW on the June 17th premiere episode of AEW Collison. AEW President Tony Khan and Warner Bros. Discovery wanted Punk back despite the drama he was involved with.

The meeting was arranged by Jericho and FTR, who wanted to act as mediators between Punk and the promotion. Punk and Jericho previously feuded on social media as Punk called Jericho a stooge on Instagram while Jericho took some shots at Punk.

Following All Out, where Punk got into a backstage brawl with The Elite and ripped several wrestlers at the media scrum, Jericho reportedly called him a cancer to the locker room.

Wade Keller reported on the meeting during a recent PWTorch audio show and noted it went well. Keller heard the meeting took place and was a positive step forward for Punk and AEW.

Sean Ross Sapp also reported on Fightful Select the meeting took place, and the two stars are seemingly in a good enough place to work together. This is reportedly the planned feud for Punk’s return.

It’s also possible that Punk and Jericho discussed potential storyline ideas or collaborations with FTR.
