Mike Tyson returned to the boxing ring in November 2020 to take on Roy Jones Jr. after 15 years away from the sport. After eight rounds, it ended in a draw.
But that is no longer the main story from the fight, as Tyson has now confessed to having been on magic mushrooms during the bout.
“They help me train, they help me box better,” Tyson told The Pivot Podcast. “When I’m fighting, I don’t really feel the punches.
“It really is like magical s***. You saw me just fight. I was on shrooms.
“I wouldn’t fight without them, are you crazy? And some weed.
“I wish I did this s**t in my career, I’m so f**king mad I didn’t know about this s**t”.
Tyson’s use of hallucinogenic drugs is no secret, and he has long spoken of how using the drugs helped him to turn his life around.

Tyson recalls that at one point the American fighter compared himself to Muhammad Ali, even calling himself superior, something Tyson did not like at all.
“Don’t tell me you’re the greatest fighter with 50-0,” Tyson said on his podcast.
“You’re great, no doubt about it, but 50-0? Julio Cesar Chavez had 90.
“He was fighting like, what? Eight times a year? Against whoever was in the rankings.
“He wasn’t picking. It was ‘whoever you want, come on’.”

It was some time ago that Mayweather decided to make comments about Ali, comparing himself to the legend.
“Is Ali the same fighter that got beat by a fighter with seven fights?” Mayweather said.
“Leon Spinks beat Muhammad Ali when he only had seven fights. We’re just telling the truth. Next.”
Tyson picked that argument apart too, criticising Mayweather further.
“He’s very delusional,” Tyson said of Mayweather.
