UFC and Dana White Deliver a Crushing Blow to Canelo, Leaving Him Stranded Without a Venue for His Highly Anticipated September 16th Fight

Canelo Alvarez has said little about his next fight, there is a lot of speculation and other things that have been confirmed by others. The boxer announced that he will fight in September with Premier Boxing Champions and that’s all he said, and although he has not released the name of the opponent officially, everyone else believes he will fight Jermall Charlo.

Jermall Charlo would be the chosen one to be Canelo’s first opponent in a negotiation with PBC that would include three fights.

And while the official announcement comes, Canelo and his team have a serious problem in front of them: The venue. Canelo wants to fight in Las Vegas and there is a strong impediment for the match to happen as the UFC plans to have Grasso vs Shevchenko 2 and Rakhmonov vs Gastelum on the same date and venue.

Can Canelo fight in Las Vegas?

The company commanded by Dana White revealed this week that on that day they will be taking the T-Mobile Arena, so Canelo won’t be able to fight there that night.

Canelo also likes to fight in the majestic MGM Grand Garden, but it is also booked for September 16 with a musical event, so it is not an option for Canelo either.

There are still more than two months to go before Canelo Alvarez has his second fight of the year, but they are still studying the options to fight in Las Vegas.
