Eddie Hearn has insisted Tyson Fury is at fault for failing to find an agreement with Oleksandr Usyk to fight in the ring.
Speaking to Piers Morgan on TalkTV, Hearn insisted that the Gypsy King’s only interest is in making money over fighting.
Fury is set to return to the ring on October 29 in Saudi Arabia to face MMA legend Francis Ngannou.
It has left many boxing fans unhappy after many believed he would face either Anthony Joshua or Usyk.
The latter has already got three heavyweight belts after beating AJ twice, holding the IBF, WBO, and IBO titles.
As Fury currently holds the WBC heavyweight title, a mega fight had been billed to unify the division in April – but such a contest looks like it will never happen at the moment.
Instead, the 34-year-old’s upcoming clash ag ainst Ngannou – who is not even a professional boxer – has been ridiculed, and Hearn has laid the blame at Fury’s door.
Speaking to Morgan on TalkTV, he said: “Tyson Fury turned down the Oleksandr Usyk fight.
“The most important fight in boxing, to fight an MMA fighter who’s never had a fight before in his life in Saudi Arabia.
“We’ve got to be honest, Tyson Fury cares about one thing only – the money.
“He’s beaten Wladimir Klitschko and Deontay Wilder – that’s his wins.
“He needs to beat Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua, and then we can talk about him – as I believe he is – as one of the greatest heavyweights of all time.”
An all-British fight between Fury and Joshua is also desperately craved by English boxing fans.
But, again, it appears that such a bout is unlikely to ever happen.
AJ is set to return to the ring this summer and face Dillian Whyte on August 12 at the O2 Arena in London.
However, Fury has already recently knocked the Bodysnatcher out and some want to see Joshua go a step higher.
The counter-argument, though, is that the 33-year-old needs to repair his reputation somewhat after a double defeat to Usyk.
And a points victory over Jermaine Franklin did not do enough to sway the mood over his current state.
However, an anticipated bout against Deontay Wilder in December is expected to light up the heavyweight division – which is in dire need of fireworks.
