In a very interesting turn of events, MMA legend Fedor Emelianenko wants to go head-to-head with boxing legend Mike Tyson. The 46-year-old is one of the oldest and greatest fighters in MMA history and retired earlier this year after his loss at Bellator 290. While Emelianenko has no interest in returning to MMA, he has expressed his desire to box against one of the greatest.
During his interview on MMA Hour, Fedor stated that he would like to box against Mike Tyson. He further added the bout could take place on the undercard of Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou fight in October.
Mike Tyson last fought in 2020 against Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition bout that millions tuned in to watch as the event sold 1.6 million PPVs. Ever since then, Tyson has been focusing on growing his business and his podcast. While both Fedor and Tyson are considered the baddest in their sport, fight fans are leaning more towards Iron Mike.
“If Mike gets in Pandemic shape Fedor will get Packed,” tweeted one fan. Meanwhile, others think, both Fedor and Tyson have achieved a lot and don’t need to prove anything. “Bro’s 46, someone tell this guy to just rest already he’s done it all,” tweeted another fan.
Given Tyson is 57 years, the chances of him fighting on an undercard are very low. However, he will still be present for the Fury vs Ngannou card in October as he has been training ‘The Predator’ for his boxing debut.
