With his trainer Cus D’Amato by his side, Mike Tyson was only 18 when he made his professional debut in the sport. Like a raging storm, he then won 27 fights at a stretch before facing Trevor Berbick in 1986. At the time Tyson stepped inside the ring with Berbick, he had won his last six fights via either KO or TKO. And while Berbick was 32 with a record of 31-4-1, with 27 victories, unbeaten Tyson was only 20. However, Tyson overpowered Berbick and several times landed big shots on the latter.
Finally, in the second round, after Tyson dropped Berbick with a left hook, the referee stopped the fight. With this victory, ‘Kid Dynamite’ created a record by becoming the youngest Heavyweight champion of the world. Although it has been 36 years since the fight with Berbick, he remains the only person to have won the WBC World Heavyweight title at 20. Unfortunately, while Tyson continues to hold an unbroken record for 36 years, his children still show zero interest in his fights.

Following the victory against Berbick, Tyson fought Smith, Thomas, and Tucker. By 1987, he became the undisputed Heavyweight champion of the world. With his commendable achievements inside the ring for 20 years, he gradually made a fortune of $430 Million. Despite these accomplishments, in the latest episode of Hotboxin,’ Tyson mourned that his children did not prefer watching their father’s fights. On being asked if he looked back and watched his fights, Tyson announced that he wholeheartedly desired his kids to learn about his performances in the ring.
“I wanted my kids to look at it,” Tyson told guest Andrew Huberman on Hotboxin’. “[But] they stopped looking, they don’t want to see that sh*t no more,” he added. While Tyson, who joined hands with Michael Jackon’s son, was sad that his beloved kids did not watch his fights, Huberman assured the former that they would “later“. By the by, Huberman even praised Tyson’s kids.

While Tyson’s kids may have not had an interest in their father’s bouts, they impressed guest and neuroscientist Andrew Huberman with their questions. In Huberman’s opinion, Tyson has “very inquisitive and smart children“. “Your son was telling me about sleep paralysis and REM sleep. Your daughter was asking about lucid dreaming,” he told Tyson. “These are very inquisitive children,” he concluded.
