Mike Tyson’s Ring Endorsement: Who Is Boxing’s Current Sensation?

Mike Tyson’s name can be found in any respectable list of all time great heavyweights, and there are few fighters of all time as recognisable as ‘Iron Mike.’

And in a recent interview with Daily Mail, the former undisputed world champion explained why a current active boxer is “already an all time great.”

Tyson has always spoke fondly of current WBC heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury – hardly surprising, given he was supposedly named after him.

And he heaped more praise in the direction of ‘The Gypsy King’ this week – though admitted he is planning to knock him off his throne.

“He’s [Fury] not the greatest of all time, but he’s really high – he’s the greatest right now.”

“He already is an all time great. Let’s not forget his past – this is not his first fight. He’s been defending his title, he’s undefeated.”

“He is the current sensation in boxing, no doubt about it. But we’re here to take him off his throne.”

Tyson has been training former UFC star Francis Ngannou for his crossover bout with Fury, which takes place in Saudi Arabia on October 28th.

And despite the New Yorker’s best efforts, footage of Ngannou hitting the pads would appear to indicate that Fury has little to be concerned with.

A tougher test does lay in waiting for the Brit, however, after he and Oleksandr Usyk finally agreed terms for a legacy defining undisputed showdown, which is also tipped to land in Saudi Arabia in either late December or early January.
