Soon, Ryan Garcia and Gervonta Davis’ fight will come to an end, and many well-known people will be in the audience to see one of the biggest fights of the year take place. And most recently, Mike Tyson published an Instagram Story on his account in which he could be seen in Las Vegas conducting an interview with a reporter.
He foresaw the battle, displayed his prejudice toward it, and indicated which audience member he would be rooting for in the clip. Ryan Garcia was was a guest on Mike Tyson’s podcast, Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson, where they discussed Garcia’s Tank preparation.
Garcia was the first professional boxer to use Tyson’s new Tyson Pro gloves after he gave them to him as a present. Therefore, it seemed clear that Tyson would select Ryan Garcia as his preferred opponent for this matchup.
Tyson responded that he isn’t taking Gervonta Davis lightly and said something to the effect of the world will see what happens, but he wants Garcia to win when questioned about his expectations for Garcia.
Mike Tyson on Ryan Garcia upsetting Gervonta Davis
So the interview started abruptly with Mike Tyson talking about the fight, where he was talking about Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis, and how people have been talking about him. While, his bias is a bit different for this fight, as he is siding with Ryan Garcia for this one.
Tyson said, “Really you will have to think that Tank couldn’t fail, I think Tank could win, but you don’t know I like Ryan.” Then the reporter asked him for some advice and how Garcia should approach this fight so that he can pull off the upset against Davis.
Mike Tyson replied to this by saying that if something like that happened, it’d just be a great sight to behold. He said, “I don’t know, should turn amazing if it would.” Additionally, Garcia gave a cold Conor McGregor-type prediction for this fight, on Tyson’s podcast.
Well, it’s clear that Mike Tyson surely wants Ryan Garcia to win the bout, but simultaneously, he is also aware of the threat Gervonta Davis might pose to his opponent.
