Mike Tyson has had his challenge to Jake Paul of having a boxing bout accepted by the YouTube star:

With the pair agreeing that they should glove up and get in the ring by the end of the year

The former heavyweight champion said on the Jimmy Kimmel Show that a fight will take place between the friends – and that it will happen at some point in 2022. Tyson said about the prospect of fighting Paul on the show: “Anything is possible but it has got to happen this year.”

The YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul seemed to accept the challenge put out by Tyson. He posted: “Thank you to the great Mike Tyson for the respect and opportunity. This year we are making it happen.”

Paul has been in the sport only a few years but his form and technique have mightly impressed Tyson:

He said that he gives him ‘credit.’ “Tyson said: “That could be really interesting. He’s skilled enough, I’m going to give it him, he’s skilled enough because he keeps winning.

“Even if he is fighting fighters that aren’t meant to be good enough, they should still be beating him but they can’t.

“He is beating people that he shouldn’t really be beating so you have to give him credit. He is doing good and he is doing things that are great for boxing.

“This guy has seven million people following him every time he fights. The champions of the world don’t have that many people following him so what he is doing for boxing is sensational.”

So far Paul has participated in five professional bouts and won each one. Most impressively, he managed to beat former UFC Champion Tyron Woodley on two occasions. Iron Mike retired in 2006 and was the youngest to ever hold the WBC, WBA, and IBF titles, owing to his ridiculous talent and size. In 58 fights he made 50 wins, with 44 of these coming via knockout.
