While talking about the GOAT of boxing, Rogan said that Floyd Mayweather is definitely on that list. Rogan mentioned that Mayweather is the greatest defensive boxer of all time. Rogan also talked about Mike Tyson in his prime and how destructive he was in that era.

He said: “It’s arguably he (Floyd Mayweather) is. Not just great defense like the best defence of all time…. I think Mike Tyson [was] in his prime when he knocked out Larry Holmes, when he starched Marvis Frazier, when he was just smashing everybody. I think he had reached this level that you could only maintain for a certain amount of years.”

According to Joe Rogan, if Muhammad Ali and Tyson were in the same era of boxing both would have helped each other to grow and be better boxers.

“I think that if Muhammad Ali had been in the same era as Mike Tyson, he would’ve been better because Mike Tyson was around.

You get better depending upon who was around you,” said Rogan. Rogan is spot on about the fighters he mentioned and most fight fans would also agree the same.

In one viral interview, Tyson got mad and went on a rant about Mayweather not being on the same level as Ali. “Listen, if he was anywhere near that realm of great as Muhammad Ali, he’d be able to take his kids to school by himself.

OK, he can’t take his kids to school by himself, and he’s talking about he’s great? Greatness is not guarding yourself from the people. It’s being accepted by the people. He can’t take his kids alone to school by himself. He’s a little scared man. He’s a very small, scared man.”

Despite frequently expressing his admiration for Mayweather, Tyson insists that Mayweather is nowhere near Ali’s level of iconic status and that Ali’s greatness during his time was unmatched. Tyson regards Ali with the utmost respect and believes that he is in a class by himself.
