In a recent episode of his podcast Hotboxin, along with guest and connective tissue expert Dr, Abhinav Gautam, Tyson commented on his ability to relate to individuals who grapple with pain on a daily basis. This empathy stems from his own personal experiences, acknowledging that pain is universal and deeply challenging.

 

“I know this pain is the most uncomfortable entity in the world. Yeah, imagine being born in 1920, and you got um, meniscus.” he said

By opening up about his struggles, Tyson offers solace and understanding to others who are enduring their own battles with discomfort. In addition, the 56-year old has been vocal about his ongoing struggle with sciatica.

Sciatica is a condition characterized by pain radiating along the path of the sciatic nerve, which extends from the lower back through the hips and down each leg.

 

Mike Tyson’s battle with sciatica

Back in 2022, the former champion revealed that he is suffering from Sciatica. This came after he was spotted in a wheel chair at Miami airport unable to walk without its support. Tyson’s appearance in a wheelchair had raised concerns about his health. However, he later attended the US Open matches and also promoted his cannabis brand, Tyson 2.0.

In addition, he revealed that he has occasional flares of pain that affect his ability to speak and breathe. Despite this, he has battled it quite well and has minimized the problems with proper healthcare and medication.

As he continues to navigate his health challenges, Tyson remains an inspirational figure, demonstrating strength and gratitude amidst his personal struggles.
