Only a few more months, and then Tyson Fury will finally get to enter the ring for his long impending fight. But the bout will not be one that the world anticipated. Since Fury won over Derek Chisora in December last year, there have been calls for him to fight Oleksandr Usyk. If the fight did undergo its course, it would see the two fighters battle it out for the ultimate unification of all titles in the Heavyweight division. But now Francis Ngannou has entered the scene.
The scheduled match between Fury and Usyk in December this year collapsed. The reason for this has been attributed to ‘The Gypsy King’ not agreeing to the deal offered by Usyk’s team. Now that this matchup seemed undoable, Tyson was on the lookout for another fighter with whom he could fight. It was earlier announced that he will enter the ring against Cameroonian fighter Francis Ngannou.
Ngannou is an ex-UFC fighter who pulled out of the combat sport after his relationship with Dana White deteriorated. The company has strict clauses against their fighter venturing outside of the UFC. However, the world seems to be poles apart regarding this fight. But there is one legendary boxer who has taken on to train Ngannou for his debut in the boxing arena.
Francis Ngannou has a befitting trainer for his boxing debut
It was earlier announced by ‘The Predator’ Ngannou’s team that he is teaming up with Heavyweight boxing legend Mike Tyson. In the press release, ‘Iron Mike’, said, “It is no secret I back Ngannou 100 percent in this faceoff of champions.” Speaking about Ngannou’s preparations for the fight, Mike added, “He has one hard punch, and when it lands, it’s game over. I am looking forward to working with Ngannou and supporting his transition from the octagon to the boxing ring.”
Amidst these developments, the retired boxer also posted a picture on his Instagram. He was seen training Francis for the big night.
The picture speaks volumes about the dedication Ngannou is showing for his big night against Tyson Fury. However, the news of Mike teaming up with Fury’s opponent might not have gone well with the latter. After all, Tyson Fury’s father named his eldest son after Mike. Folks have been quick to identify this. For instance, OMAR said, ” Not cool for Tyson Fury tho you’re his idol and he’s named after you…”
