What caused Mike Tyson to go from feeling like a “hard stallion” to becoming “emotionally comatose” when he saw his ex-wife with Brad Pitt?

Mike Tyson Felt Devastated Seeing Ex-Wife With Brad Pitt

Mike Tyson and Robin Givens’s marriage was a troubled one which eventually ended in divorce. Givens claimed in court and publically that the former boxer was extremely abusive and had a volatile temper. While Tyson claimed that the young actress was a ‘gold-digger’ and wanted to take everything away from him.

After many allegations and ridicule, they eventually divorced in February 1989. But even after the divorce, Tyson continued to seek his ex-wife as he seemed to miss her. In an interview with Conan O’Brien, he revealed how he once took a morning trip to his ex-wife’s house as he missed her.

But there was no one at home and he turned back. Just as he was sitting in his car, he saw his ex-wife with the Oscar winner, Brad Pitt.

“As I go to my car she drives up… she drives up with the handsome Brad Pitt. I was just emotionally comatose… I went from a hard stallion to a wet noodle. It just totally overwhelmed me. I had no energy to fight.”

Tyson stated with a visible frown on his face. Despite the apparent ‘love’ he felt for his ex-wife after their divorce, Tyson claimed in his 1989 book Fire and Fear: The Inside Story of Mike Tyson, that the best punch he had ever thrown in his life was on his ex-wife Givens.

Mike Tyson Shocking Revelation About Ex-Wife In His Biography

In the 1989 biography titled Fire and Fear: The Inside Story of Mike Tyson, written by José Torres, there were many shocking revelations about Mike Tyson’s life and career. While talking about his personal life, Tyson admitted to physically abusing his ex-wife Robin Givens, much to the shock of his fans who had by this time supported him and labeled Givens a liar.

“It was when I fought Robin in Steve Lott’s apartment. She really offended me, and I went BAM. She flew backwards, hitting every wall in the apartment. That was the best punch I’ve ever thrown in my entire life.“

These accounts remain shocking to this date, even more so when one realizes that Robin Givens nearly had her career ‘destroyed’ by Tyson’s fans and was being called the most hated woman in America.
