Mike Tyson: The Family Man – Opens Up About The Relationship His Children Share With Each Other

In the show’s latest episode, Mike Tyson and his co-host Sebastian Joseph Day welcomed legendary comedian Cedric The Entertainer.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame stand-up artist and actor has been active since 1987, participating in various shows and sitcoms and lending his voice to famed motion picture franchises like Madagascar.

The ace comedian took the duo through his life’s journies. With some thirty minutes left, the discussion turned to kids. Cedric took them through his kids and what they were doing. Later Mike Tyson shared how his daughter Exodus’ passing away ‘humbled’ him. From his end, Cedric added, “…I love my kids, you know what I’m saying, but I was like I was in that highlight of what I was doing my career, so I spent a lot of time gone, you know, like nowadays I spend a lot more time, but hey you know they got their own personality their own lives they kind of do their thing.”

Then he asked Tyson whether he had young children, to which the former champion answered in the affirmative. The comedian then explained how he was initially close to his kids, but the career challenges made it increasingly difficult for him to spend quality time with them. Thus he emphasized despite growing professionally; one tends to miss that part of life with kids especially.

Then he took the example of his eldest daughter, whom he had distant a relationship before he got married. He explained that he met he when she was already four years old. So while on hand with one child, there was a sense of estrangement on the other hand, he had children post-marriage living with him at his house.

Moreover, his father was never around when he grew up. So Cedric admitted that while he always wanted to be a better father, his self-interest posed an immense challenge.
