While talking about his mindset during his training camp and fighting, Tyson once mentioned that he gets a feeling of superiority. According to “Iron Mike”, after all the hard work, sweat, etc, he gets to a stage mentally where he is the best boxer in the world and nobody can beat him.

He said: “It’s the feeling of superiority because when I’m in the ring, I believe in my mind from putting in the effort, the sweat, the workouts. The six weeks or whatever it takes, I’m the best fighter in the world. And I have proved that by the champions that I have beaten to reach the point that I’m now, I have no doubts in my mind. There’s no doubt, I’m the best fighter in the world.”

Tyson’s mindset and determination to win fights were unmatched at that time and many fighters struggled to go against the force of nature that Mike was. His boxing record of 50-6-2 had 44 knockout wins, it certainly proves how lethal Tyson was.

Mike Tyson wanted to hurt his opponents inside the ring because he didn’t want to lose all his success

Tyson is arguably the most intimidating boxer in history and mental warfare was a big part of his game. Tyson often got into the heads of his opponents before the fight and planted fear in them.

While talking about his approach to his fights with Fox News, Tyson revealed that wanted to kill his opponents and hurt them in order to achieve more success in life.

“The more you hurt them, the higher you go in. That’s just my mentality. The more you hurt him, the more people will love you,” said Tyson.

He continued: “Just think about who I am. I don’t want to go back there no more…don’t want to be in that poverty state of mind anymore and not from a physical perspective. I won’t be poverty struck in here.”

According to Tyson, growing up he was extremely poor and had no plans to go back that stage so kept on pushing himself in the world of boxing.
