On a journey filled with drugs, love, and fighting, Mike Tyson revealed that he was shocked that he was even alive after all of that. Stating that love is a far more powerful narcotic than drugs, the boxer revealed that there were truly some dark times that he would not wish to relive again.

Mike Tyson Is Surprised He Is Still Alive!

Having an active career from 1985 to 2005, Mike Tyson has been referred to as “Iron Mike” and “The Baddest Man on the Planet”. With his boxing career in the high, the American former boxer seems to have lived through some terrible times.

 

 

Talking about how he was not at all prepared for the spotlight that he would receive, Tyson talked about his journey. The journey was filled with addictions, love, and fighting with a sprinkle of existential crisis on top. Tyson stated that after all that he has been through, it is simply a surprise that the boxer is even alive!

“At that time, that’s what my life was about. Just fighting. Becoming a personality at such a quick rate, I was never prepared for th at. I thought I was. I had no idea what I was involved with at that time in my life. It was just so overwhelming. I’m surprised I’m still alive.”

The Hangover actor further added,

“When I was on drugs, I had this idea that I was under control. But this is what I found out about love: I absolutely know I’m not in control. Love is a more powerful narcotic than actual dope.”

Although the actor is in a much better place right now, the hilarious incidents (which are a bit traumatizing) are still in the actor’s memories. Talking about the 2009 movie The Hangover, Tyson forgot that he never agreed to star in the film!

 

Mike Tyson Forgot His Cameo in The Hangover

With Zach Galifianakis, Bradley Cooper, and Ed Helms joining together for a comedy movie, The Hangover became one of the finest comedy movies out there for people to enjoy. The movie also featured a cameo from Mike Tyson but the former boxer forgot that he ever agreed to star in the movie.

“I was drinking and smoking back then, doing drugs so I didn’t know I was involved in the movie. So eventually I had to go and do the movie and it was a success. [But] I was a mess. I was overweight. I was a pig, high on cocaine.”
